Sparkle Nails

Pretty Things

I think of myself as a low-maintenance kinda girl, and to be honest most of the time my nails are just naked. My nails are pretty short, they won't grow without snapping off, and I'm not a big fan of falsies. However, in honor of my Saturday night out, I decided to bling them up a little.

The result...  I like, I like!

I always start with a Sally Hansen "Hard as Nails" base coat, in an attempt to strengthen up my nails. Then I went with a red colour, some random brand my Mum bought me for Christmas. I like the shine it has, as I usually go with matte Barry M colours. Now most people would use a glittery nail varnish. However, I didn't have one to hand so instead decided to use actual glitter. Because every decent primary school teacher has some on hand - right?

I simply pressed glitter onto wet nail varnish and covered with 2 coats of clear, allowing plenty of drying time in-between. I have to say I'm really please with the result, and it seems pretty chip-proof. Although I do have a feeling that it will be a pain to remove...

  1. Very creative...I would have never thought to use actual glitter! And I see no trace of sausage fingers :)

  2. I'm sure it's not the proper way to do nails, but it worked for me :) x
