Winter Wedding - Bridesmaids Dresses

Pretty Things

I started talking here about my friend J's wedding. On Saturday we went dress shopping, and I'm so excited to share the results with you.

She had her heart set on navy coloured bridesmaid dresses, so we were simply trying to decide the style.
Runners up...
7140                                Alfred Angelo                             7027

7140 - I love chiffon dresses and this design won brownie points because of the glam contrasting ribbon option, but we had reservations about boob-security!

7027 - I am not a big fan of satin dresses, I think they can look too shiny in photos. However, I was pleasantly surprised as it only really had a gentle sheen. It's hard to see from the website photo, but the sparkly beading across the top would look really cute as part of a winter wedding.

J's sister (and maid-of-honor) is slightly plus-size and very body conscious, so it was really important to pick a dress that flatters a range of figures, and makes everyone feel comfortable. In the end the winner was.....

It ticked all the right boxes:
} Floor length (to keep our legs warm!)
} Available in navy
} Boobs felt secure
} Flattering waist line
} I love chiffon dresses!!

The colour on the website looks a little lighter than the fabric swatch, so I have cheekily nicked borrowed these pictures from bluebonnet over at Weddingbee to give you a better idea of the blue.

Now for a sneak peek at the blushing bride's dress...

  1. Pretty dresses! My bridesmaids will be in Alfred Angelo as well, in a mix of styles. But my sister's dress (she will be Matron of Honor) is the style you chose!

  2. I suggested having 2 bridesmaids in 7140, and 2 in 7016 as I thought that could look quite cute, but her sister quickly dismissed that idea! Hehe! What colour will your girls be wearing? x

  3. WOOOOW! Both dresses looks so beautiful! The colour is amzing and i love the cut!
