Reflect, Edit, Improve.

I'm still new to the blogging world. I have been a reader / lurker for a while now, skipping from blog to blog. However, I decided it was time to start forging some roots, and I’m now working my way round from the inside.

I’m still figuring some things out, such as how to discover the type of blogs I like, and following the people whose lives I want to hear more about. But I’m having fun whilst doing so. :)

It also means that my own blog isn’t quite there yet. I wanted categories to give my blog some structure and flow, but am finding that the fit isn’t quite right.

The solution? Reflect, edit and improve. I spent ages teaching my 10-11 year olds to do this in their literacy work, so it only seems fair that I take my own advice. I’m planning a few tweaks here and there, and I’m sure there will be more in the future.

But please be kind – I’m still a newbie!

  1. Hello Mrs. Showers!
Thank you for checking out my blog, I can't wait to read through all of your posts. I'm also new to blogging and still finding my blogging 'voice'. I think its like anything, the more you practice, the better you'll be. I look forward to following your job application journey. I've just done the same thing, only the nursing version. Good luck! :)

  2. Thank you so much! I totally agree about finding a voice. My problem is I read an awesome blog and think – “I’m totally going to write about that / like that”, and have to remind myself that maybe copying someone else isn’t the best way to go about it! Lol! I have a couple of friends going into nursing, so I know how hard it is and take my hat off to you. x

  3. I've been blogging for a while now, but I think it takes quite a lot of time to find your "voice" (and I'm still not there!). When I'm finding a post really hard to write or to make "flow", then that usually means I'm writing because I think I should rather than because it's the right post for me. Good luck with it! :) x
